kit’s story
I work with big, powerful, reactive, or over-the-top dogs — the ones that make people cross the road. The ones you love with your whole heart but aren’t always easy to live with. I know because I live with them too.
I’m Kit, and I share my life with rescued, exempted bull breeds and the sassiest little terrier cross you’ll ever meet; they’ve taught me more about behaviour than any training course ever could (though I’ve done plenty of those too). They have all faced serious behaviour challenges (reactivity, bite history, destructive behaviour, predation and much more), so I really know what it’s like to live with a complicated dog.
And that’s why I build my life and work around one core principle:
HONOUR YOUR DOG.
Honour their breed, their strength, their intensity, their needs, and their desires. Work with them rather than trying to swim against the tide.
When I adopted my first dog Ezra, I was a secondary school teacher and, honestly, I bit off more than I could chew. He felt impossible. I am someone who’s been right where you are: tired, overwhelmed, and wondering if life with your dog will ever feel normal again. But I’d fallen head over heels for my nightmare dog, so I made it my mission to learn how to help him and became a dog trainer and behaviourist on the way. I’m very proud to say Ezra and I now live a wonderful life with significantly less chaos than we had. Even better, everything we learned together has now helped hundreds of other dogs just like him, including the other complicated dogs we live with.
You’re here on my website because you need to make a change. This can be the first step for you and your dog. I can help you understand what your dog needs, how to meet it, and how to build a life that works for both of you. My approach is built on years of study and real-world experience - and I invest heavily in both. I am a qualified teacher and I’ve completed multiple advanced courses in dog training and behaviour so I can help both ends of the lead.
When you train with me, the relationship you have with your dog is at the heart of everything - you can still be their best friend and have boundaries and control. How? Through structured, ethical, and results-driven training. I give you the tools, feedback, and support you need to build focus, control, and trust - especially when your dog is at their most intense - without ever using pain, fear, or intimidation.
This isn’t just about giving paw and rolling over; it’s real life skills for dogs who need them. But this also isn’t about shrinking your dog’s spirit. It’s about giving that spirit direction.
So whether your dog’s strength is hurting your back, their reactivity is isolating you, or you just want a life that feels calmer, clearer, and more in sync - I’m here to help.
